Responsibilities*
Reporting to the LSA HR Director, function as an HR expert and strategic partner for managers and department staff; maintain positive and productive relationships with our partners. Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Develop understanding of assigned departments' goals,staff, and culture
- Provide comprehensive HR consultation and strategies that promote achievement of department and college goals while helping colleagues grow in their careers in LSA
- Collaborate with peers in LSA HR, other dean's office areas, University HR, and other areas of expertise to develop creative and comprehensive HR solutions
- As a representative of LSA HR, make meaningful contributions to university and LSA project teams
- Coach supervisors and nonsupervisory employees on strategies for maintaining positive employee relations and resolving conflicts
- Advise hiring managers about strategies for recruiting and selecting quality talent
- Partner with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion colleagues to sustain a culture that values diversity, inclusion, and belonging
- Advise managers about competitive total compensation practices and non-financial recognition
- Facilitate positive management of organizational changes; help build peoples’ capability for navigating transitions
- Create, deliver, and evaluate impact of training and other educational sessions that facilitate employee and management development
- Develop and present a variety of data that can positively affect employee or college-wide performance
- At the senior level, the position does not include supervisory responsibilities and incumbents commonly perform the same work as peers. At the lead level, this position has the potential to take on administrative supervisory responsibilities
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
For a senior level role, at least five(5) years of progressively responsible HR generalist experience with broad knowledge of employee relations, recruitment, compensation, employee development, and organizational effectiveness. For a lead level role, more than eight (8) years or progressively responsible HR generalist experience.
Substantial experience interpreting and implementing HR policies and practices as well as state and federal employment laws.
Demonstrated success in contributing to and supporting an environment focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Effective at managing time, assignments, and projects, including regular follow-up to keep stakeholders informed about progress.
Statistical skills; ability to develop and present HR data, including recommending different options or solutions.
Proficiency with office productivity software (such as Google Workspace, MS Office) and software used for extracting data from enterprise resource planning systems. At the senior level, can use existing data sets and queries. At the lead level, can create moderately complex custom queries and data without assistance.
Results orientation; biased toward action.
At the lead level, sustained, successful experience as a supervisor or related, ongoing experience leading teams of two or more people (for example, daily coordination of team work, monitoring progress, and providing technical guidance on complex issues.

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
Additional Information
The salary range for this position will be:
Senior Level position: $69,000 - $86,000
Lead Level position: $81,500 - $102,000
A higher salary may be possible for well-qualified candidates.
